Account information: Your screen name, email address, and hashed password. Required to operate your account. Your email is used only for password reset and optional notifications you opt into.
IP addresses: We store your signup IP and your most recent login IP (one record, overwritten each time you log in). Used for security — detecting ban evasion and suspicious activity. We do not log every page you visit.
Posts and replies: Content you submit to boards is stored and displayed to other members. You can request deletion of your content by contacting us.
Preferences: Your favorite boards and account settings are stored to personalize your experience.
Direct messages (envelope only): If you use the messaging feature, we store metadata — who sent to whom, when — but never the message content itself.
Location for weather: If you allow browser location access, your coordinates are sent to our weather service to show your local forecast. This is not stored on our servers.
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no third-party cookies, no advertising cookies.
Internet Rewind displays content from third-party services (news feeds, weather, movies, etc.). When you click through to external sites, their privacy policies apply. See our About page for a full list of services we use.
Your account data is retained while your account is active. You may request account deletion by emailing [email protected]. Posts you've made may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve board continuity.
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with 12 rounds. Sessions are stored server-side and transmitted over HTTPS only. We do not store payment information of any kind — Internet Rewind is free.
Internet Rewind is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.
